Who do I sit with? You can put together a table of 10, organize a smaller group or request to be seated at the tables reserved for each grade level.
I am new to the school, will I know anyone? The auction is a great way to meet other parents from the school. We would love to place you at a table with other parents in your child's class!
What goes on that evening? After check-in there is a cocktail hour followed by dinner and dessert. We are excited to have a champagne and signature drink to offer this year to welcome those to the auction. The live auction will be our main event and will start during dinner so everyone has plenty of time to socialize later in the evening. If you have not seen a live auction before, it is fun to watch. The silent auction includes items in the categories of sports, travel and entertainment, health and beauty, for the home, children’s items and class projects. The live auction typically has about 10-20 items which usually raise approximately $1,000- $6,000 each. We will be offering a "fish bowl raffle" for the opportunity to win one of several items.
If I attend, will I be expected to bid on something? You are not required to bid on anything, although there is a wide variety of fun and unique auction items to bid on!
Can I review the auction items before the event? We will try to have an updated item listing on this website starting in mid-January.
How do I bid on a Live Auction item? The Live Auction takes place during dinner. Everyone attending the event will have an assigned bidder number. This bidder number will be assigned to you before the night of the auction. It will be located on the back of your auction booklet, so make sure you bring it with you the night of the auction! When you want to participate in Live Auction bidding, simply raise your paddle to get the attention of a spotter. If you win the item, the spotter will note your bidder number and winnings.
How do I pay for my auction win? Everyone will be on Express Check-out when you swipe your Visa, Mastercard or Discover upon check-in. Your credit card will automatically be charged at the end of the evening. If you prefer, you may pay with cash or a check at Check-out. You will be given a receipt of all your purchases at the end of the night.
Will I be able to take my auction win home that night? Yes, you will be able to pick up your winning items the night of the auction. If you need to leave early, please arrange to have someone take your winning items.
After the silent and live auctions close at 10:00 people can move to the dance floor to enjoy DJ Bill Armington.
How can I help?
You can make an item donation or a cash donation (100% tax deductible). Please see the item donation page for ideas on what you could donate. Also remember, any item you donate that sells the night of the auction will go toward your family's fundraising credit! Please check out the Item Donation tab for ideas and information.
We can ALWAYS use more volunteers! It is a great way to get more involved in the school and meet other school parents. Please contact Meg Olsen at email@example.com or Molly Donovan at firstname.lastname@example.org to lend your time and talents to the school auction!
Most importantly, PLEASE COME to the auction! It is such a fun evening and a great way to get more involved in the school. Please encourage others to attend and invite people to sit at your table.
